A tough and heavy movie to watch.
Casey Affleck seems to carry all the pain and grieving of the world on his back, but without permiting himself to let it all out. Great performance, great story.

A sensible story about a good hearted boy being constantly punched down by his life.
Barry Jenkins direction is great, and it has many visually beautiful scenes, and an interesting use of colors.
But the movie lost me somewhere in the third act, and the absence of Mahershala Ali after the first part was also a little letdown for me.

Makoto Shinkai is well known for his stunning animations, and heartbreaking stories where distance always keeps lovers apart.
"Your name" has this elements, but this movies feels lighter than his previous works, with a lot of Slice of Life situations, and comic moments (the "grabbing boobs" gag always got me).
The plot is a bit misleading, with some curious twists in the middle that made me like it more in some aspects and less in others. The bittersweet tone in the end is also present here, but a lot more optimistic than before.

An introspective movie about miserable people, in a miserable place, living a miserable life, with unreachable dreams but with a chance of redemption and turning over the table. Kinda.
Unfortunately, the beggining of the movie is a little hard to follow, because of the non-clear time line of events, that we only fully understand by the end of the first half hour of the movie.

Ethan Hawke is always a charismatic actor, and Sarah Snook (whom reminds me of a younger Tilda Swinton) is really amazing in her acting.
But the movie is too predictable, specially if you've seen a bunch of time travel stories, and the ending felt unsatisfcatory. A passable movie in the end.

Revisited the movie after so many years.
There were many bits of the movie that I didn't remember, like how it can be disturbing in certain parts, and how it has some funny gags(!). Fincher is great in showing the spiral that the protagonists get sucked in for not solving the murders, and the frustrations of having to build a solid case before arresting someone, even if all the clues lead to the suspect.
But the movie may get a little bit confusing, specially by the end when Graysmith starts his own investigation.
But Memories of a Murder still is a better movie, and I can bet that David Fincher watched it many times before filming Zodiac.

A wonderfully animated tale by Yoshitaka Amano (famous for his promotional arts of the Final Fantasy franchise)and Mamoru Oshii (director of Ghost in the Shell), but that drags too much... an one hour animation that feels like two.
The movie has few conversations and full of symbolisms that unfortunaly I could not connect with.

Sometimes half-truths, secrets or unrevealed facts can become worse than lies... that's what Farhadi's filmography keeps teaching me.
Strong acting and directing, a movie that shows how relationships can become complicated due to our past, fears, and uncertain future.

Buster Keaton was MAD.
How could he do all those incredible stunts? And there are some tricks that just blew my mind and kept me wondering how they managed to do it.
And the flick is also very funny, a naive humour that we can only find in Keaton's and Chaplin's movies.

There are some good intentions here, like weighting religion and respect among different beliefes.
But the movie is most about swearing (not in a funny way, like South Park incredebly does), poor animation, and food talking. I mean, the trailer may give the audience the wrong impression about it, since the more visual violent and sexual stuff are a minimal part of the flick.
But I got admit, I loved the Orgy scene.

This is a fine mobster film, especially with such outstanding cast (highlights for Gary Oldman).
But I couldn't find in the end what the movie was really about. We hadn't Noolan's police side well explained, so we really don't get a whole scope of his motivation. And Ed Harris' character is so.... stupid, making just terrible decisions that really annoyed in the end.

Wow, just wow.
A passionating movie, full of colors and dreams;
Emma Stone is superb as Mia, and Gosling overflows charisma. Damien Chazelle can already figure between the great promises of Hollywood.
Many people didn't like the ending, but that was what sold the movie for me.
If it has any downsides (not being a 10/10), it's because the movie dosen't have memorable songs, and the big dance scenes are all in the first hour of the movie.

Visually stunning, but it lacks something... depth, coherence, or maybe this is the case that less would be better.

Like Babadook and The Shinning, The Witch just entered in the small group of horror movies that I love.
Great story abou religious paranoia and the guilty for being a woman. I also like how the movie gives us right in the beginning that the Witches are real, leaving screentime to develop the important aspects of the plot.

An important documentary that unfolds Snowden's revelation for 3 journalists about the norht america's surveillance programs.
But the direction and edition is weak, and is easy to get bored from all the information and little dinamic through the documentary.
