Elle
This movie always made me feel sorry for Emma Stone taking the Oscar, and not Isabelle Huppert.

Never thought that a Godzilla movie would be about crticism to japanese gorverment's burocracy. And a really well done one.

The Big Sleep
Too confusing, misleading, and with a weak payoff in the end. Definetly I am not very fond of Bogart's movies.

Perfect Blue
I was only a teen when I watched it for the first time, and I remember that I didn't like it very much. Well, this is the kind of movie that takes some maturity to be fully apreciated, after all, it's hard to get all the criticism to the media (specially japanese), carrer and machism or notice the homage to The Silence of the Lambs. And there's more, because Satoshi Kon's direction is masterfully done, creating a visually interesting movie and very well edited, making it intriguing, but no confusing. It's not a surprise that Perfect Blue became Kon's great debut, and an international reference for others filmakers(directors Aronofsky and Nolan, for example).

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
unfortunally, I have no idea of how much of the original footage was in the version that I watched, which was colorized and with a electronic synthetizer. But regardless, it's a great silence movie, with a story and a "creepines" ahead of it's time, especially for not being so naive as other stories told by the time.

Starship Troopers
I missed this movie when I was young, and I finally fixed this mistake. What a great action sci-fi movie, with great action scenes and special effect even for today. And of course, we can't miss all the political comments and the sarcarsm surrounding media, war, fascism. Also, young Neil Patrick Harris.

A Tale of Two Sisters (2003)
Another Thriller/Horror, that the pussy here decided to take on.Fortunally, it only has 2 or 3 creepier sequences, so I did it all alright (almost). Jokes apart, another great South Korean movie, with no humour at all (what is rare based in what I've seen from the country), but very catchy, tense, and with really wondeful frames and great use of colors (specially Purple), which is a common thing in Korean movies. The ending is great, but can be a little confusing, especially in regard to the father's relationship with the women in the end.

I, Daniel Blake
Interesting to see that the stupid burocracies of the government doesn't exist only in your country (Brazil, in my case). It's so frustrating to follow these characters, everything should be simple, accessible, easy... but the country just turns the back for them. It even has some kind of "involuntary humour" when we can idetify ourselves with the protagonist situations(and I'm still 28!).

Troy
It was starting on TV and I decided to watch, since I had nothing left to do. The battles and the number of extras in the war sequences were impressive, but the plot, acting and directing were weak, even for a blockbuster. It's really hard for me to swallow Hollywood actors portraying other ethnics.

Logan
Hugh Jackman finally got the Wolverine movie that he deserved, and with a spetacular goodbye for all the fans. The action sequences are breathtaking and brutal, finally we can see how violent is being Wolverine. The old Xavier is hearthbreaking, but Sir Patrick can stil pull some laughs and melt our hearts. X-23 is simply amazing, it's been a long time since the last time I saw a good child sidekick. I cried in the final frame, btw.

Akira (1988)
Another rewatched movie. The last time I saw it, probably was about ten years ago. Obviously being so long ago (and being so young!) I had no idea how amazing was the animation and, specially, the OST. Also, the movie has a lot of religous, politcs and social comentaries that only makes the movie richer. Unfortunaly, the movie only covers the first 2 volumes of the manga (I think), and lot of things are left without answers, and with a open-ending. But still, a classic of the animation.

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
I am not the biggest fan of western movies, but John Ford nailed this story with these two amazing actors.
